Full assembly instructions for the Closets Warehouse tower system. Everything below is also in the illustrated PDF manual, which adds photos and diagrams for each step. Print this page or the PDF and keep it with you during the build.

Before you start

Two people. Lifting, positioning, and anchoring a tower is a two-person job. Don't try it alone.

Anchor every tower. Tall towers can tip. Anchor each frame to the wall with the 2 included brackets before you load it with shelves, rods, drawers, or anything else. Brackets fasten to a wall stud on one side and to a fixed shelf on the closet side.

Know your kit

Towers come in 84 in and 96 in heights. Use the parts and layout that match the kit you bought.
Tower depth is 14 in.
Nominal tower widths are 18 in, 24 in, and 30 in. The assembled width is wider because of the 3/4 in panels.
Connected systems share divider panels. Do not install duplicate side panels between connected towers.
The baseboard notch sits at the bottom rear of each vertical panel and must face the wall when the tower is upright.
The lower shelf sits directly above the toe kick.

Section 1: Single tower assembly

1x left vertical side panel, 84 in or 96 in
1x right vertical side panel, same height as the left
2x fixed shelves
8x Rafix locks and 8x matching Rafix connecting bolts
1x toe-kick support panel, matched to tower width
2x metal L-brackets and 8x Euro screws for the toe kick
2x wall anchor brackets, 2x wall screws, 2x wood screws

Step 1: Set up the vertical panels

Lay down cardboard or padding to protect the floor and the panels. Place the left and right vertical side panels flat on the floor.

Check the baseboard notches, the cutouts at the bottom rear, are oriented so they'll face the wall once the tower is standing. The notches sit at floor level and let the tower fit over the room's baseboard.

Step 2: Prepare the top fixed shelf

Insert 4 white plastic Rafix locks into the pre-drilled holes along the edges of the top fixed shelf, openings facing the matching bolt holes. Use a mallet if needed to seat them fully.

Screw 4 Rafix connecting bolts into the matching top holes on the inside faces of the two vertical side panels.

Step 3: Connect the top fixed shelf

With the panels flat and the baseboard notches facing up, line the top fixed shelf up with the Rafix bolts on one side panel. Slide the shelf onto the bolts and tighten the Rafix locks with a screwdriver.

Don't use a power tool on the Rafix locks. Over-tightening breaks them.

Attach the second side panel to the other end of the top shelf the same way. You now have a U-shaped frame. Watch this step.

Step 4: Connect the second fixed shelf

The second fixed shelf is structural. Position it directly above a hanging rod zone or directly above a drawer set, depending on your configuration.

Long-hang configuration: set this shelf at a reachable height and install the rod brackets one or two drill holes below it.
Most other configurations: set it about 44 to 46 in from the floor.

Screw 4 Rafix connecting bolts into the holes you picked. Insert the remaining 4 Rafix locks into the edges of the second fixed shelf, slide it onto the bolts, and tighten. Watch this step.

Step 5: Stand the tower upright

With a second person holding the opposite side, lift the frame slowly into an upright position. Go slow, because the bottom corners damage easily. Watch this step.

Step 6: Connect the toe kick

Attach the 2 metal L-brackets to the toe-kick support panel using 2 Euro screws per bracket. Position the toe kick horizontally near the bottom front of the standing tower.

Fasten the Euro screws through the L-brackets into the pre-drilled holes on the inside faces of the left and right side panels. This secures the base of the frame.

Push the unit back against the wall. The baseboard notches should fit over the baseboard so the tower sits flush.

Step 7: Anchor the tower to the wall

Find the studs near the top of the unit with a stud finder. Place the wall brackets at fixed shelf locations so they tie the tower frame to the wall.

Check the vertical panels are plumb with a level. Tap lightly with a mallet to straighten the tower before anchoring.

Drive the wall screws through the brackets into the studs. Use 2 wall brackets per tower. Install the second bracket at another fixed shelf location, above or below the second fixed shelf where possible, fastening into the fixed shelf area and a wall stud.

The frame is now assembled and anchored, ready for rods, the lower shelf, adjustable shelves, or drawers.

Section 2: Connected towers

Connected systems share divider panels between towers instead of doubling up side panels.

Panel rules

A single tower uses 1 left panel and 1 right panel.
A connected 2-tower system uses 1 left panel, 1 shared divider panel drilled on both sides, and 1 right panel.
A connected 3-tower system uses 1 left panel, 2 shared divider panels drilled on both sides, and 1 right panel.
The divider panel replaces the duplicate inside side panels.

Build the first tower frame using the Section 1 steps, but use a shared divider panel on the side where the next tower will connect. Once that tower is standing and anchored, add the next one:

Insert the Rafix locks into the next tower's top fixed shelf.
Screw the Rafix bolts into the matching top holes on the open side of the shared divider panel.
Screw the Rafix bolts into the matching top holes of the next outer vertical side panel.
With a second person, position the outer panel and slide the top fixed shelf onto the Rafix bolts between the shared divider and the outer panel.
Tighten the Rafix locks by hand with a screwdriver.
Install the second fixed shelf following Section 1, Step 4.
Secure the toe kick following Section 1, Step 6, then anchor the added frame with 2 wall brackets.

Section 3: Rods, shelves, and drawers

Hanging rods

Kit parts: 1 rod + 2 rod brackets.

Install the rod brackets on opposing vertical panels, one or two drill holes below a fixed shelf. Always put a hanging rod below a fixed shelf so the rod and the clothing load are carried by the fixed shelf structure.

Insert the brackets into the drill holes with the openings facing up, then lower the rod into the bracket openings from above.

Lower shelf

Position the lower shelf with the finished front edge facing forward. Rest the front edge on the toe kick and insert shelf pins into the rear hole rows at the matching height to support the back. The pre-drilled holes are set to match the toe-kick height so the shelf sits level.

Adjustable shelves

Insert 2 shelf pins into each vertical panel at the same height, then set the shelf on top of the pins. Move them whenever your storage needs change.

Drawers

Drawer boxes arrive pre-assembled. The tracks mount to the vertical panels before the drawers go in.

Position the top drawer below a fixed shelf. Using 2 Euro screws, connect the drawer track to the left panel at the second drilled hole below the fixed shelf. The wheel faces the front of the closet and sits on the lower part of the track.
Connect the matching track to the right vertical panel at the same height.
Insert the drawer by tilting it downward and guiding it onto the tracks.
Repeat for the remaining drawer sets. Leave 4 holes between 5 in high drawers, and 5 holes above a 10 in high drawer.
Adjust the drawer front angle with a screwdriver so it lines up with the shelf above and with the other drawers.
